E-cards? Seriously? Those were a fad in the late 90's. Do people really still send those things? In the time it takes to make a freaking e-card, you could just send an email.

Anyway, our Christmas traditions haven't changed. On Christmas Eve I knit a small hat, we take pictures of the cats wearing the hat, and then we go to midnight mass at the Episcopal church. Beat that, technology!

What was your biggest fear about becoming an adult?

My anxiety about adulthood was pretty nonspecific. It just seemed like there was so much grownups had to do every day, and nobody really explained much of it to me. Come to find out, it's the same crap you do as a kid, it's just that nobody's going to pick up the slack for you, and if anyone yells at you it's going to be your boss instead of your mom.

So, kids, the lesson: being an adult isn't that exciting. Enjoy being a minor, it'll be over soon enough.

How green is your school, office, or home?

Probably not as green as they could be. It's difficult to justify investing in eco-friendly accoutrements for a rental property, and unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) I don't call the shots in my office. I suppose the whole thing makes me sound kind of noncommittal and unwilling to take responsibility, and I suppose I'd have to agree with you if you said so too. I don't actively seek to waste electricity, I turn off lights when I leave a room, and I turn off the faucet when I'm brushing my teeth. But honestly, I can't see myself hiking up a ladder to put solar panels on the roof of a duplex someone else owns. I'm sure I'll take a more active role when I own my own home.
